The ban includes all fishing activities for sturgeons on Danube River and in Black Sea until the end of 2011. A second ban, specifically addressing sturgeon catch is under preparation to become effective in the period from 01.2012-12.2015 which is to be adopted by the end of March 2011.
As a result of the protection attempts in correspondence with the Danube sturgeon Action Plan an information campaign will be implemented in Bulgaria after the second fisheries ban has come into force.
