World Fish Migration Day 2020

Jeremy Wade, host River Monsters, invites you to join World Fish Migration Day 2020.

Dear colleague,

Jeremy Wade, host River Monsters, invites you to join the next World Fish Migration Day on May 16, 2020.  We hope that you like the new Love Flows campaign and that it inspires you to host an unique event to connect fish, rivers and people. Over 3000 organizations, from New Zealand to Hawaii, will be involved in this fourth edition of WFMD. We hope to create big impact on the wellbeing of migratory fish from local to global. We have attached our new an updated participant guideline.

Last year we celebrated 570 worldwide events, let’s make it 1000! We are looking forward to see lots of Happy Fish around the world. Events can be registered at https://www.worldfishmigrationday.com/join-wfmd .

Events can be from small to big:

-a visit to a dam/weir removal,

-family activities in a museum/park/river/zoo/aquaria,

-inauguration or visit of a fishway,

-excursion to a river restoration project,

-special trainings/workshops,

-research center activities in the field,

-special school programs involving students/families,

-kayaking a river,

-movie/documentary screening,

-fishing day in a river,

-rivers clean-up,

We have just released our new trailer of the ‘Love Flows’ Documentary. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jHf7lv9SYQ8 . We hope you that you will like it. The film had its world premiere on 19 March at the Environmental Film Festival in Washington DC and from May 2019 we will do the public launch.

Make sure to follow our Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/WorldFishMigrationDay/) and Twitter (@fishmigration) sites for updates about event opportunities and ideas, the number of registrations and, of course, all things migratory fish.

Keep your enthusiasm and love flowing, register your event now and help us get the word out! Only by working together we can make a difference!

Many thanks for your ongoing support for fish passage and wonderful work on migratory fishes and healthy rivers. Don’t hesitate to make contact if you have any questions.
