Do we have a reliable control of international trade of sturgeon caviar? 

Nowadays, any international trade of sturgeon and their products (e.g. caviar) is controlled and includes a mandatory universal caviar labeling system. Since this caviar labeling system was introduced a few years ago, the number of genetic tests or isotope analyses distinguishing legal caviar from illegal caviar has been reduced close to zero. We are wondering if the decreased amount of illegal caviar is true to reality or an artifact caused by the missing monitoring?
