This bibliography is an ongoing project which started in 1986. Updates were prepared in 1992 and 1996. The 1992 version included many new citations of the Chinese paddlefish, current publications and older publications that had been overlooked. This latest version again includes publications new since 1996, some corrections and "new founds" of older publications. Next to a systematic categorization of the species, the introduction also exhibits distributional maps for the North American and Chinese paddlefishes. The index system was changed from a number system under each topic to author's name and date. This allows for easier corrections and new inclusions.
