Ramsar declaration on Global Sturgeon Conservation: A document prepared by the ISS5 participants and jointly published by WSCS, and the ISS5 Organizers.

The Ramsar Declaration on Global Sturgeon Conservation was prepared by the participants of the 5th International Symposiums on Sturgeons (ISS5) and brought into the final version through an ad-hoc editorial Committee, incorporating many suggestions presented by experts, all of which are listed at the end of the declaration. This is the first international Declaration addressing the urgent need for stringend measures to be taken by governments, inter- governmental agencies, local authoriies and NGOs to assist to save the sturgeon stocks globally which are dwindling away at an alarming rate.
